Manage Storage Spaces pool capacity upgrade but Windows Disk Management doesn't update disk size.

Windows 10 does not upgrade to actual disk size. It displays old disk size.

How do I tell D: that is a 12TB capacity instead of 4TB? Do I need some how to resize the volume manually?

I upgrade the disk substituting two 4TB HDDs (two-way mirror) with two new 12TB. I make the substitution one by one. All the data is there in the new disk.
Storage space 3,6TB [OK] Not formatted storage space
Manage Storage Spaces physical drives shows properly 12TB and 30% used as expected.

But looking at Disk Management, and inspecting properties of Windows D: the drive is still 4TB (and close to full).

At the moment the only thing I found was this 2013 bug that is still there:

PS: To fix this bug/issue my first idea was to delete the storage space group pool and create a new one.
But in Manage Storage Spaces if I select "delete", this ridiculous interface, will delete all the files that it contains and can't recover the files.
(At the moment it does not look like a good idea or pointless for a non-advanced user to use Manage Storage Spaces.)

    Hi,

Normally, when we creating the volume, we need to format it and then store data on the volume. So, it's strange that in your case, you have data on the volume while the volume is not formatted.

In this scenario, I would suggest you backup the data, and then try to format the volume, of course, formatting will make us lose data. If we can expand the volume successfully on the volume after formatting, then try to restore the data from backup.

If after formatting the volume, we still unable to expand the volume, I'm afraid we need to rebuild the storage space.

    Thanks for your time!
    Best Regards,
    Anne

    Hi,

According to your screenshot, it seems the AM(D:) volume hasn't been formated in the storage pool, and not have a driver letter shown in the storage pool.

Generally, we may see the volume like below in the storage pool, after format, we will get the option "change", and we can extend the volume size:
