Hi All,

I am using visual studio 2010 C++ and my project builds without any errors but when I run it, getting error message

"The application was unable to start correctly(0xc000007b)",

I tried with many options which I found in google but those are not helpful in my case.

Here I am going to list What I tried, please go through it and help me....

Project properties->C/C++->General->Debug Information format->Program database for edit and continue(zi).
Tools->options->Debugging->symbols->selecting Microsoft symbol servers-> and all modules .
Tools->options->debugging->output window->Module load messages->off.

Provide some information about the application such as -

1) Console application? GUI application?
2) Building for 32-bit or 64-bit?
3) Any DLLs? If so, does the bitness of the DLLs match the bitness of the executable?

2) Building for 32-bit or 64-bit?==Building for 32 bit but using windows 7 64 bit operating system.
3) Any DLLs? If so, does the bitness of the DLLs match the bitness of the executable?==before getting this error,I am facing one more issue,that is "WDAPI.dll" missing error ,so I added 32 bit .dll file in my system path(C:/Windows/Syswow64) and 64 bit .dll file in (C:/Windows/system32)...

The .exe file is older one(that is 32 bit exe),I want to generate new exe...

I suggest you could try to use dependency walker to test whether there is a problem between your application and its dependencies?

According to your description, the 32-bit application may try to load a 64-bit DLL.

You should not place non-system DLLs in the Windows system folders. I suggest you remove whatever you copied into the System32 and SysWOW64 folders.

How did you determine the bitness of the two different versions of WDAPI.dll?

Place a copy of the 32-bit WDAPI.dll in the same folder that contains your 32-bit executable.

You also wrote -

From what you have shown us it appears the debugger is trying to run the output from a build so referring to "older one" doesn't seem relevant.

Hi,

I tried with dependency walker,I checked my .exe file ,
But as I am using dependency walker at first time I didn't understood much,
Here I am going to attach the screenshot could you please tell me what it's showing(Screenshot: Capture1),
And I have two wdapi1100.dll files ,trying to check their bitness , could you suggest me which one is 32 bit and 64 bit while seeing the screenshot(capture2 and capture3).

No, The exe file is 32 bit and their is two dll file with name wdapi1100.dll and wdapi1100_32.dll, I will tell you in detail.
I have hole VC++ project which consists Source code,Debug folder(.exe file) and lib folder(in this lib folder their is two .dll files) , so now I am trying to run this project, So I checked .exe file bitness using Task manager->platform(screenshot: Capture),It's 32 bit exe.

Thankyou ,Now I am able to see the bitness of the dll files using dumpbin.exe,
Yes their is two dll files one is 64 bit with name wdapi1160(screenshot: 1) and 32 bit dll with name wdapi1160_32(screenshot: 2).
As you suggested I deleted the dll files from system path, and placed the 32 bit dll in the folder where the .exe file exits(screenshot: 4).
After this trying to run it but facing the same issue(screenshot: 6)...

Looks to me that you placed the dll in the wrong folder. The dll should exist in the same folder as the application that it generated when you build your 32 bit EXE. The image posted indicates that the dll was placed in a folder that contains source files.

Hi,

I removed the exe and again I build the application ,then its generated exe file after this I placed the wdapi1160_32.dll file in that location ,but getting same error...

Maybe some other dll is the problem I suggest you run dumpbin on every non-system dll that your .exe loads to verify that they are all 32-bit binaries.

Hi,

In which location the exe is generating, in the same location one more dll file is there with name gec-titan-sf....dll(screenshot :R_1) ,I checked this dll file bitness also ,It's 32 bit dll, After this again I tried to run the application but getting same error.

So I checked which are all dll files are using while generating the exe, I used procexp.exe,

When I used the procexp.exe It's showing some other dlls also(screenshot : Procexp),I am going to attach the screenshot please check it,

those all dll's are using to generate exe ? If yes then,in that dll's, some dll are 64 bit...

there is total nine dll,in that five are 64 bit and four are 32 bit,If this is the problem then could you please suggest how to resolve this.

Process explorer image is showing system dlls.

I suggest you create a new solution that contains a 32-bit dll project and a 32-bit application project. The application should use the dll. See if there is any problem running the generated 32-bit application which uses your newly created 32-bit dll.

If all works as expected then it seems to me that the problem resides with the dlls gec-titan.... and wdapi.... and you should try to resolve it with the authors of that software.
