Hi,

What is the correct sequence of DNS cache reset? I have the following (please correct me if I'm wrong and the explanation for the correct sequence). Also does the system require a reboot after this?

net stop dns & net stop netlogon & ipconfig /flushdns & net start dns & ipconfig /registerdns & net start netlogon

TIA,
BT

Kind of vague but if you were changing the ip address of a domain controller I would do ipconfig /flushdns, ipconfig /registerdns, restart the netlogon service.

I can confirm ipconfig /flushdns, ipconfig /registerdns, restart the netlogon service has always worked. The Netlogon service on a domain controller registers dynamic Domain Name Service (DNS) and srv records to advertise Active Directory directory services.
