RegisterEventSource function returns error 1764 after installing windows patch on windows 10 workstation. No problem before installation. RegisterEventSource trying to connect to eventlog on another server.

Which version you have installed that caused the problem? If it's like you said, you’d better wait for the following update.
latest windows 10 update. The function still connects to local machine event log but not to other machine's event log anymore.
Perhaps it’s better to back to the previous version.
Unfortunately, that is not an option. The application is installed on client site, only thing I could do is log to local machine instead of logging to server's event log
