Dears,

We have hundreds of laptops to upgrade to Windows 10 - 1709 and here is our issue:

Once Windows 10 is installed (Fresh Installation with SCCM with latest drivers and BIOS), the laptop second Hard Drive (bay) is detected as REMOVABLE !! What is annoying as MBAM is not encrypting it anymore !!

The issue is the capabilities of the Drive detected as 66 and not 60.

We have tested to change the value "Capabilities" under HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet001\Enum\SCSI\VEN_Drive&Prod\xxx\ but the Data is changed back every reboot.

We have also tried :

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3083627/internal-sata-drives-show-up-as-removeable-media to detect second hard drive as internal.

But not working with W10 :(

Please, could you help ??

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Platform.

    Navigate to Device Manager.

Right-click on the internal hard drive (HDD or SSD) and select Properties

Under Policies tab, make sure 'Enable write caching on the device' is ticked, there is no 'optimize for quick removal' enabled. This is directly related with how Windows considered or not a drive being removable

Update to the latest chipset and AHCI/RAID driver.

There is a similar case can be consulted.
