This is by design . You require to logon to the azure Analysis services using Organizational accounts only . If you try to logon with a LiveID / Microsoft Personal account you would get the error above.
If we try to add the personal account as an administrator on the analysis services instance in the azure portal , it also fails with the following :-
- "Error while applying server administrator changes to the Azure Analysis Services server. The user or application: '' was not found in your organization's Azure Active Directory. Details: ''."
