Hi ,

We are trying to connect azure analysis services cube through Power BI report , where when we try to establish the connection through Microsoft Account it throwing error saying This server does not support Microsoft account athuthentication.113382-issue.jpg

    Hi,

    I got the issue resolved for my error by updating the latest Analysis client libraries from Microsoft link is given below
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/analysis-services/client-libraries?view=asallproducts-allversions

    Even after this update if you receive the same error , then you may need to add your Client IP address on your azure analysis services firewall then its working fine.

    Hello @RAVISHANKAR R (DHL IT Services) ,
    This is by design . You require to logon to the azure Analysis services using Organizational accounts only . If you try to logon with a LiveID / Microsoft Personal account you would get the error above.

    If we try to add the personal account as an administrator on the analysis services instance in the azure portal , it also fails with the following :-

    • "Error while applying server administrator changes to the Azure Analysis Services server. The user or application: '' was not found in your organization's Azure Active Directory. Details: ''."

    @Shashi Shailaj This issue occurred with my customer who is from the UK region where when he tried to access the cube from the Power BI report he got his Microsoft authentication error, before that he was enabled with Multifactor authentication for his account. Even then he got the same error, we asked him to update the client libraries for SSAS still issue persists.

    We found that this particular region firewall IP range was missing in Azure Analysis Services so people in that region was having same issue ,later once we add the range of IP all those users can able to access the cube from Power BI.
