I am not specialist of DPM, but I have done some researches and found some similar threads.
I summarized some troubleshooting steps that you could have a try. Please kindly help to check if they are helpful.
- Try to create a recovery point manually and see if that will fail or not. If it fails, check the error message.
- Check if the SQL server agent is started or not. (open SQL Server Management Studio > connect to the SQL instance used for the DPMDB database >Check SQL Server Agent)
- If the SQL server agent is started, please check the Jobs status (Expand SQL Server Agent > Expand Jobs)
