Farmbeats for food security

Question

I would like to find out if on top of what FarmBeats can do, is it possible for me to build services that will read from sensors and send to Azure to enable prevention of pests such as breakout of locusts that maybe coming and detection of potential diseases as well as detection of potential floods and fires. Meaning building on top of FarmBeats to report on these scenarios with data coming from sensors.
