Using Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard (service pack 1)

Have lost some important files from a folder in C drive. This was due to re installation of an application program which overwrites that folder in C drive. Forgot to back up the files from the previous installation before re installing. Want to recover back the files that were lost after the re installation.

What is the procedure to recover the files?
Is there System restore function were we can restore to the specific date before we did the re installation?

Please advice

    Hi,

Thanks for posting in our forum!

    >Is there System restore function were we can restore to the specific date before we did the re installation?

If you performed the system state backup or backup your drive C with Windows Server Backup or other backup tools, you can perform the restore to recover your files.

    For steps, please see here:

If you are using a third-party backup tool, please contact the vendor.

    Hope this can help.

    Best Regards,
