Windows 10, version 2004. Failed to install XX/XX/XXXX - 0xc1900223
I looked up the error code on https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/10587/windows-10-get-help-with-upgrade-installation-errors
Error
"What it means and how to fix it"
0xc1900223
This indicates that there was a problem downloading and installing the selected update. Windows Update will try again later and there is nothing you need to do at this time.
The machine is an Dell XPS 7390 which appears on the list that Dell have tested for Windows 10 May 2020
https://www.dell.com/support/article/en-uk/sln297954/dell-computers-tested-for-windows-10-may-2020-update-and-previous-versions-of-windows-10?lang=en#XPS-NB-20H1U
- Dell drivers are fully up-to-date.
- I have tried downloading the KB and installing but it said that it wasn't applicable http://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=KB4565503
- Tried installing using the Windows 10 Update Assistant and ISO media https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=691209 "This PC can't be upgraded to Windows 10. Your PC settings aren't supported yet on this version of Windows 10. Microsoft is working to support your settings soon. No action is needed. Windows Update will offer this version of Windows 10 automatically when these settings are supported."
- Confirmed Core isolation disabled
- Tried disconnecting from the internet and upgrading
- Checked log files, but could not find any clues https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/928901/log-files-that-are-created-when-you-upgrade-to-a-new-version-of-window
Supposedly the rollout has been delayed due to compatibility issues?
What is interesting I have another Dell XPS 7390 with the same settings and drivers and it upgraded without any problems.
