Hi everyone,
I want to make a simple backup on a remote site what do you advice me please? is backing up to a share folder is a good idea? and do i need a domain controller to do this? I hope not, because my servers are part of the same domain controller but the machine which hosts this domain controller is a hyper-v machine so I don't want the backup to be dependent on this machine.
thanks in advance.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your question to Q&A forum.

Is backing up to a share folder is a good idea?

Shared folder is one option to save the backup data. The best way to protect backups data is to use a destination that is offline, offsite or both. Common ways are to back up to USB drive or RDX disk, and to take those disks offline (disconnect them) and offsite.

If you would like to proceed a bare-metal backup, we suggest that you could read below article, which clarifies planning when and whereto back up your system in the right way.

You can create a daily backup job in Windows Server Backup and select the time to run backups. Then the backup will automatically take place at the scheduled time.
Please refer to below video for detailed steps to proceed the backup.

Hope above information could help you.

    Thanks,

A better option may be to do the actual backup local, then possibly copy it to your network location via script.

if it is possible to use the scheduled backup many times on different destinations

At face value I'd say yes, but it may depend on the reliability / availability of the destinations.
