Open document which downloaded by SharePoint server with RMS protected after the authorized account deleted

Hi Team,

We have a sharepoint 2016 server with RMS service. And we have some document protected by RMS which stored on SharePoint Document Library.

These document can be download and open by a specific user domain account.

The user use this account and download some document and did some edit work. But recently, this domain account was be deleted due to the user resigned the company.

Now, we found that we cannot open his document which he downloaded from sharepoint now....

Is there any solution to open these document?

If you enabled IRM on the Document Library, you can simply disable IRM on the Document Library. Documents that reside in a Document Library with this method of enabling IRM are not encrypted with AD RMS while the document itself resides in the library -- they are encrypted when the document is opened.

If the document itself was IRM'ed via Word, on the AD RMS cluster, you can add one or more users as super users who 'override' the right applied to the document.
