From the perspective of Office, I would suggest you try the following steps on 2 test machines.
- Which version of Office are you using? Please update it to the latest verion.
- Open the Group Policy Editor and go to User Configuration/Policies/Administrative Templates/Microsoft Office 2016/Global Options/Customize to disable Disable UI extending from documents and templates.
