From Windows Settings, I did Personalisation > Start > turn off Show recently added apps
But can I remove Recommended from Windows 11?

Why would I need Windows to recommend an app to me? Who thought that was a good idea to spend time programming? Like as a user I'm sitting down not knowing what to do? Windows recommends the most irrelevant apps. Look at the pic someone posted here. It recommends Teams and Getting Started... Thanks Windows for the wonderful recommendations. This is not at all annoying or a complete waste of Start menu space I am used to having, and fully utilizing, on Windows 10.

As of the current build of Windows 11, it is not possible to remove the "Recommended" section of the Start Menu.

It MUST be a completely BRILLIANT feature in Windows 11. What other reason could there be for it be mandatory?
I mean, there's obviously NO NEED to make it possible to remove because of course it is FANTASTIC. And ANYBODY who dares to express ANY OTHER OPINION is obviously WRONG.
"Not possible to remove" translates as "STFU and do what Microsoft tell you, b****h".

reminds me of windows 98 it had a similar feature no one liked.

@Leon Laude Has there been any update to this? All I need the start menu to do is utilize the search/autofill feature and to display apps that I have pinned. Is there still no way to remove the Recommended section of the start menu? I disabled the apps from showing up there, but it's wasting landscape in the start menu and it would be nice to have that space available for more pinned apps since I cannot change the width of the start menu.

How soon can this be removed or an option added where this can be removed? It currently takes up half of the start menu.

Another stupid Microsoft decision. I have this section taking up HALF of my start menu with no way to remove it.

I am sorry to say that I have decided to install a third party program to temporarily fix the taskbar and start menu until Microsoft decides to do something about it. I am not promoting it, of course. Just saying that I would NEVER have resorted to paying a third party 5 bucks to have this fixed had this not been an otherwise completely disabling experience for me in terms of productivity.
The start menu is now much more usable (it's customizable, but unfortunately I can't add columns or remove labels, but everything else I can change however I want). The program also fixes the taskbar and explorer now as well, by the way by giving you the following options:
And as a bonus it lets me separately place my Start Menu on the bottom left of the screen and keep my programs centered, because I'm on a 32" screen - it helps a lot.
Got some screenshots here. These are all things Windows NEEDS to have by default. It speeds up work immensely. Hide it. Put it in Windows Pro only, or behind Group Policy, whatever, but just make it possible so people that want to change it, CAN change it.
I'm not hating. Just putting it out there that except for the last thing about separating the placement of start menu and open programs on the taskbar, this is functionality that we once had and have had it removed for no reason.
I also made the Windows square again. Thank God for GitHub users.
