I installed/configured a php database front end software in app services called "nubuilder" I edit the lines in the config.php for the server name, db name, user, pw. I am using azure mysql.
I keep getting this error
sqlstate[hy000] [2002] php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: name or service not known
I'm assuming this error is because its not connecting to the mysql correctly.
server: ncitlp.mysql.database.azure.com
database: ncitlp
any ideas? thanks.

Are you running the Nubuilder instance from your local machine?
You should configure the firewall on your Azure Database for MySQL instance to allow connection from your machine.
No, I copied the files to app services using ftp. I edited the nuconfig.php to reflect the database server and the database name. I finally was able to get mysqladmin to work. The thing is when i go to run my program with index.php it tells me my database does not exsist. Using mysqladmin I saw that the database infact did not exsist so I made it. I'm still getting this error message though. So I dont know if the software just cant be used in azure or what I'm doing wrong. I dont know if its a connection string issue but I shouldnt need to put in a connection string if the software and the database are both azure based?
