What's the exact SLA's for Azure Backup with LRS, ZRS and GRS? MS official SLA site is showing 99.9 - so is that for all?
It makes absolutely no sense that it's the same SLA for all. So does someone know why Microsoft is only writing 99.9 and not making a difference of what kind of Location Service (LRS, ZRS, GRS)?

Azure Backup
Azure Backup
An Azure backup service that provides built-in management at scale.

anonymous user - Thank you for your post!

The 99.9% today is the service availability guarantee of Azure Backup (for the abilities to backup and restore data), while the backup data itself in LRS/GRS/ZRS have availability guarantees provided by Azure Storage (where Azure Backup stores backup data).

To answer your question, Azure Backup as a service provides guarantee for the services offered, while the backup data in LRS/GRS/ZRS are offered different availability levels by the underlying Storage capabilities. The overall solution availability would be a multiplication both these availabilities. For example, if a customer were to use their own application (or a 3rd party application) to backup and use Azure Blob storage, their overall solution availability is availability of LRS/GRS/ZRS, multiplied by the application’s availability to perform backup and restore. In Azure Backup’s case, the second part is guaranteed at 99.9% today.

    Hope this clarifies!

    hi Thiago Pfiffner,

LRS provides at least 99.999999999% (11 nines) durability of objects over a given year.

ZRS offers durability for storage resources of at least 99.9999999999% (12 9's) over a given year.

you can read several blogs as well for batter understanding some I have mentioned below.
