Hi,

In Windows update history, we see five types of Windows update as Feature updates, Quality updates, ….

Generally next version comes under Feature updates or Quality updates.

Almost all updates start with KB…

Currently I have Windows 10 21H1 (19043.1202)

We can get update for Windows 11 by joining Insider Program.

Without joining Insider Program, can we decide or estimate how far we’re from Windows 11 update?

For example, how many KB... updates can be lined up before Windows 11 update?

How many builds can be between 19043.1202 and Windows 11?

How many versions can be between Windows 10 21H1 and Windows 11?

With Regards
NndnG

    Hi @NndnG ,

I think this may be quite difficult to get an answer to, the only thing we do know is that Windows 11 will officially be released on October 5, 2021, only then and later may we expect an update to Windows 11 to become available.

    Here's some more information:

This is from a recent Microsoft release:

New eligible devices will be offered the upgrade first.

The upgrade will then roll out over time to in-market devices based on intelligence models that consider hardware eligibility, reliability metrics, age of device and other factors that impact the upgrade experience.

We expect all eligible devices to be offered the free upgrade to Windows 11 by mid-2022.

If you have a Windows 10 PC that’s eligible for the upgrade, Windows Update will let you know when it’s available.

End users typically do not have to wait for an offer to upgrade using the upgrade assistant.

Once Windows 11 is released end users may be able to manually upgrade to Windows 11 by performing an in place upgrade repair.
