I'm one of the few that is still on FIM 2010 R2. I'm exploring MIM. What are the benefits or maybe pros and cons on MIM? I thought I read somewhere that it can provision email without using exchange onprem. But I'm not able to find that article.

One of the con's i see (might not be really a con) but it has an expected life to end in 2026.

Anyways can someone point to different articles that will include the good and the bad of going to MIM.

    Hello IAMUser,

First, know that MIM is mostly a rebranding of FIM: MIM is FIM :)
The end of life for FIM is definitely prior to 2026, so if you want to have the extended support till 2026, you should migrate to MIM.
I don't think you will find many articles that compare FIM and MIM, but you can look at this one: mim-fim-ilm-compared

    Kind Regards,
    Sylvain
