Too many emails wrongly went to junk folder.

I have a hotmail email address , and too many emails wrongly went to junk folder. which include the email from bing.com, my HOA and My Son's school. All these emails are obviously normal and non-ad-related emails.

Before my onboarding as Microsoft FTE, HireRight email was found in junk mailbox as well. Isn't irony that MS blocked an email that MS's vendor sent, and then a candidate was delayed?

    Hi @Fang Dong ,

    Welcome to our forum!

Through my extensive search, I didn't find any official documents which introduces the principle of spam filtering. It is recommended that you could select the trusted spam in the Junk folder and click on the Report Message option and choose Not Junk, which may have an impact on your spam filtering.

According to your description, I noticed that many emails you received have been moved to Junk folder, considering that you have set a higher protection level and blocked more messages, it is recommended that you could change the level of protection in the Junk Email Filter to check if there're any difference.

In addition, if you trust spam from the same sender or from the same domain, agree with yagmoth555, it is recommended that you could try to add the sender or domain names to the Safe Senders(Click Home > Delete group > Junk > Junk E-mail Options>Safe Senders>Add), so that email addresses and domain names in the Safe Senders List are never treated as junk email, regardless of the content of the message.

    Hope the above help!

    Hi

This is an automatic scanning / process. I doubt Microsoft will change it or disclose how they calculate the spam score.

To bypass that I would mark the sender as approved to make sure it no longer go to your junk box.

    Thanks

This is not a good solution when we handle new clients on a regular basis. I am a business owner and missed many important emails and meetings due to the logic used by Microsoft. There are too many false positives. I would rather turn off the spam filter but we don't even have the option. It is a disappointing feature and I am considering using a different provider.
