Office 365 Exchange and secondary email with same adress in Outlook

I've got Outlook 365 installed and added the account as an exchange server. (To sync with Teams and Sharepoint)
The Office365-Account has my external Email-Address as login.
When I try to add my external Email-Address to Outlook365 to receive my Emails Outlook complains that the Email-Address is already added.
Vice versa if I delete the Exchange-Account from Outlook I can add the Email-Account.
So I assume it's a naming collision with the exchange-account.
What are my options to use both and get my Email integrated into my Office365?

When I try to add my external Email-Address to Outlook365 to receive my Emails Outlook complains that the Email-Address is already added.From your description, do you mean your Office365 account has two addresses associated with it(for example, alias1@domain1.com and alias2@domain2.com) and you would like to have both of them added into the Outlook for 365 desktop client?
If this is the case, for the secondary email address, instead of configuring it as an Exchange account, please try adding it as an IMAP account using sever settings in this link and see if it works.
