DNS - Domain Name output

We don’t have an AD integrated DNS but QIP DNS.
I understand it might not be relevant since its not a MS based DNS Services but any inputs will help as eventually a DNS is a DNS.

So we cleared up the metadata for a DC which was shutdown and couldn't be brought back online.
After the successful metadata cleanup i performed nslookup domain.name which gave the ip addresses of all DCs while as expected the Ip address of the cleaned up DC was removed from the list.

Now after a couple of days i again performed nslookup domain.name and I see the IP address of cleaned up DC back in the list. How is that even possible? I have checked everywhere in the DNS and I don’t see any entry for the cleaned up DC/IP address but still shows as an output of nslookup domain.name

Any idea where can I lookup or if I’m missing anything?
