How to connect 2 Synapse Workspace to the same on-premise SQL Serveer using self-hosted integration runtime?

I have one Synapse workspace for Dev and one Synapse workspace for Prod. Both will need to connect to the same On-prem SQL server as the data source.

I find I can only install one self-hosted integration runtime and associate it with only one Synapse.

Can I kindly ask how I can enable two Synapse to read from the same On-prem SQL server?

Thanks,
Gary

    Hello @Gary Cui ,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A platform.

Unfortunately it doesn’t support sharing SHIR among different Synapse workspaces.

For more details, refer to Data integration in Azure Synapse Analytics versus Azure Data Factory.

But it’s in our product team backlog. We don't have any ETA at the moment but I would recommend you to please subscribe Azure Updates page for new feature announcements and updates about Azure Products.

Once the feature is available we will update this answer.

Hope this will help. Please let us know if any further queries.
