Problem with New Edge 93.x having moved downloads to the menu bar (Windows 10)

Question

In the new Edge 93, when a PDF or other file type is pushed to the browser, there is a flashing down-arrow, and the download indicator now shows up at the top on the right side of the menu bar. While this change of behavior may be acceptable for any standard window that has a menu/location bar, this is an ABSOLUTELY HUGE ISSUE when the user is on a menuless and fullscreen window (launched from window.open). There is no indication of what happened to the download. An average user does not realize that the file has downloaded and they need to somehow open the downloads (such as press CTRL-J, or go to the "opener" window which has a tiny check mark beside the download icon). I've had to field a few tech support calls from confused users as to why the downloads are not working in Edge.

I hope someone from the Edge team can look into this and fix it asap. We have a lot of enterprise apps that are affected by this change in behavior.

Do you mean the download information showing in the top right in Edge now? If so, this is the new download experience which is introduced to Edge. For more information, you can refer to this article.

For now, this new download experience is by design, and we can't change it. If you're not satisfied with the new download experience, you can provide feedback to Edge team by pressing Alt+Shift+I in Edge. They'll improve the product continuously according to the feedbacks. I just got done testing on the new Edge 94, and it looks like Microsoft has resolved this issue.
