purview account error 21010

Question

Hi,

While following the Azure Purview setup tutorial, the Create Purview Account step fails with a 21010 error. The resource bypass suggestion did not work.

What do you suggest as the fix? Why is it failing?

Thanks for sharing the detailed error message.

From the error message it looks like - there is a policy created to block the creation of the Azure Purview account.

"21010 - Please make modifications to the Purview Account and/or policies blocking creation of the account and related managed resources in your subscription.
RequestDisallowedByPolicy - {"field":"tags.PurviewAccessPolicy","restrictions":[{"result":"Required","policy":{"policyDefinitionId":"/subscriptions/9a1cea3d-0126-4c30-8f25-b9b19d5573d4/providers/Microsoft.Authorization/policyDefinitions/c0e0ba3f-9758-488d-b6c8-aeaf1503dbf7","policyAssignmentId":"/subscriptions/9a1cea3d-0126-4c30-8f25-b9b19d5573d4/providers/Microsoft.Authorization/policyAssignments/037fe892f0254c1abdd8eeec"}}]}"

In order to create Azure Purview account, please do remove the policy assignment and then create the Azure Purview account.
