Hi,
We have an offline WSUS server which we need to update every month.
Part of this involves copying the WSUS content folder from an online server to the offline server.
I was wondering: Do I need to replace all existing files when doing the copy?
IOW - are existing files updated or not? If not, and only new files are added to an online server, then I wouldnt need to replace existing files and the copy would be much faster.
Thanks
David Z

    Hello David Z,

Thanks for your posting on Q&A.

In fact, there is no only answer. You can do it according to your preferences. Note that all computers get approved updates before we cleanup the internal WSUS server. (I recommended only to add the new files to the offline WSUS and do not replace the existing files. We could focus on the internal WSUS server)

Hope the above will be helpful.

    Regards,
    Rita

"You can do it according to your preferences"
I would prefer not to replace existing files as its quicker that way.
I just wanted confirmation that once a file is placed anywhere within the WSUSContent folder that it is never updated.
    Thanks
