Cannot access our own website internally

Question

Hi there,

I have recently upgraded our internal network to a brand new Windows server 2019 with all the latest updates and a fresh Active Directory.

Since doing that none of the computers on the internal network can access our company webiste www.alcom-it.co.uk

Have tested in Edge, Chrome and Firefox but all 3 just timeout and give this error...

www.alcom-it.co.uk took too long to respond.
Try:

• Checking the connection
• Checking the proxy and the firewall
• Running Windows Network Diagnostics

ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT

Tearing my hair out now so any suggestions would be most welcome.

We don't have an IIS server running. Our website is hosted externally.

I can access the website when I am out of the office but when I am in the office the website does not work.

I have run a ping test and these are the results

Pinging www.alcom-it.co.uk [192.168.100.254] with 32 bytes of data:

Hello @Abe ,

I felt proxy-embarrassment when reading this.

nslookup suggests that the public IP addresses of www.alcom-it.co.uk are: 2606:4700:3035::ac43:b9f4, 2606:4700:3030::6815:206d, 104.21.32.109, 172.67.185.244.

192.168.100.254 is a private network IP address. There is obviously some misconfiguration of the company internal DNS for the name www.alcom-it.co.uk.
