Hi,
I have a licencing or activation problem with with Windows 10 (IOT) Enterprise. A collegue of mine cloned a Windows 10 Enterprise installation to a new computer (industry PC). Our idea was to change the key to the key delivered with the new computer. But that does not work and there appears error 0xc004c003. After a closer look we had to find out, that the new key is for Windows 10 IOT Enterprise.
My question is, is an opportunity to activate the installation with the IOT Enterprise key without a clear reinstall?
Thanks for your help!
Matt

Typically, once the Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC (aka Windows 10 IoT Enterprise) has the key installed, there is no need to swap it out.

You could create a sysprep unattended file with the new key in a sysprep unattanded file. Run sysprep with unattended file on Computer A, and copy the image to Computer B. When Computer B boots, it will have the new key.

If this is an image you want to ship, you will want to create the image from scratch and setup the distribution share and answer with all the device drivers, applications, and settings so that get installed during OS installation. Better image management over the lifecycle of the product.

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Platform.
Maybe your colleague’s clone image method has something wrong, Microsoft has its own clone method, sysprep. Other clone method such as Ghost may lead to unexpected issue.
As Sean Liming said, sysprep + answer file should be a suitable way. Besides, for Windows 10 Enterprise editions, general activation method is volume license, you could contact VLSC for some ideas.
