Azure Group Based Licensing

I am looking at migrating our current licensing from PowerShell to Azure Group based licensing. One of the concerns I have is users being accidentally removed from the group or the group being deleted by accident and then users losing their license assignments and potentially data.

What are other people doing to protect against these type of issues?

Ok so I have found this article which helps with the accidental deleting of the group, but what about when a user may be accidentally removed from the group?

It is not possible to delete a group with an active license assigned. An administrator could delete a group not realizing that it will cause licenses to be removed from users - for this reason we require any licenses to be removed from the group first, before it can be deleted.

    Hello,
Based on this article it will depend on the license :

    • When a license is removed from a user, Exchange online data that is associated with that account is held for 30 days. After the 30-day grace period, the data is deleted and can't be recovered.
    • Files saved in OneDrive for Business aren't deleted unless the user is deleted from the Microsoft 365 admin center or is removed through Active Directory synchronization.
