Hello,

I am getting BSOD BSOD DRIVER_VERIFIER_DMA_VIOLATION about once a month, always overnight with laptop in sleep mode.

Product number: 1C9H7UT#ABA
Factory hardware, no changes to it
Lots of USB connectivity: all USB ports occupied, two USB hubs
Trigger: Overnight sleep mode, about once a month

Actions taken:

  • Keeping drivers, BIOS and Windows up to date periodically
  • Today run sfc, which found and fixed problem
  • Today run DISM, which did not find any problem

    Hello,

    Thank you for your question.

Driver Verifier is a built-in utility in the Windows 10 operating system. It is the one that ensures the integrity of all the drivers in the system. It can detect any suspicious behaviors of the drivers and if it finds the driver signature of some suspicious activity during runtime, it stops the suspected action by triggering a BSOD or Blue Screen of Death error and one of these Stop errors is the DRIVER_VERIFIER_DMA_VIOLATION error. When you encounter such an error, you will see the following message on your screen:

Try to disable the Driver Verifier Manager

open Command Prompt as an administrator.
Type Verifier /reset in the window and then press Enter and reboot your computer
