MS Authenticator asking to enter code

Myself and one other person with an iphone today noticed that the app now asks you to ENTER the number instead of selecting it from a list. While this is not that big of a change, I am getting questions from all over the company about it, because it is an unexpected security change.

Has anyone else seen this behavior?

Microsoft recently changed this to improve security (announced in the M365 Message Center or you can have a look at this blog post). In short, it's a security improvement which prevents inadvertently selecting the correct number if there's a fraudulent/malicious sign-in.

I’ve got the same issue. Everyone is wondering why that changed. Is this related to any policy that got applied to our tenant? Or some other M365 setting? Or just a feature Update of the Authenticator app for iOS?
