Hello,

Having a Azure Tenant with ADDS active for months, I would like to stop the services and continue with M365 Business Premium licenced using "P1" equivalancy.

What are the real impact for the AD joined Win10 devices? In particular do we need to unjoin/rejoin domain loosing our session?

Any guidance in this wonderfull Microsoft Licence world would be appreciated.
Thank you

These are two very different services and not really comparable. ADDS provides several functions beyond user authentication, so you would need to investigate what you are using this service for and what dependencies your organisation has on this service. One example would be for SMB permissions on file shares. Azure AD on its own is purely a cloud directory service and you will be able to do little more than provide authentication for your users with some password reset options.

If your organisation is fully cloud native then this might be an option for you but generally it's not an easy step to just migrate from one service to the other without first removing all of the dependencies on ADDS.

You would also have to create a new user profile for each of your users on their devices as it is treated as a different user login.
