Volume block size

Question

I want to find out of if the block size of the volume storing the VHD has an effect on the block size internal to the VHD.

I am running low on disk space on the volume I store my profile and odfc vhd's on. I was looking at making a new volume with an 8k or 16k block size.

As I was researching the implications, I found some chatter about possible performance issues if the block size internal to the vhd doesn't match the block size where the vhd is stored.
