Hi,

Environnement is:

  • Azure Virtual Desktop
  • FSLogix profiles
  • Office 365 installed
  • Personal and Shared mailbox deployed (as a new mailbox and/or automapped)

My users want to be able to see all emails from the beginning of their work.

Recently one user's FSLogix profile went full because of the user's and shared mailbox's .ost file size.

My question is : if I limit the size of the .ost file size, will that also limit the amount of messages users will be able to see in Outlook (keep in mind they want to see all messages)? Should I better go with moving the slider to a desired amount of time (in the Account settings)?

If you have MS articles on taht specific subject, I'll be more than happy to read them.

Thanks for your help!

Regards,
Dom

    Hi @Anonymous ,

    Welcome to our forum!

if I limit the size of the .ost file size, will that also limit the amount of messages users will be able to see in Outlook (keep in mind they want to see all messages)?

According to your description, I noticed the .ost files of your user's mailbox is large and you want to limit the size of the .ost file. For more information of the .ost file guidelines, please refer to the below figure.

As shown in the figure above, It cannot work normally when users use too large data files. If you confirm limiting the size of .ost file, please tell the user to reduce mailbox size or cache time after you limiting the size of .ost file. For more information about limiting the size of .ost file, please refer to: How to configure the size limit for both (.pst) and (.ost) files in Outlook.

Should I better go with moving the slider to a desired amount of time (in the Account settings)?

Considering the size of your user's current .ost file, it's suggested that you could moving the slider to a short time. And you can scroll to the end of a message list in a folder and clicking the message Click here to view more on Microsoft Exchange to view the messages removed from the local cache.

    Hope the above help!
