Outlook 16.54 for Mac - HELL! - Can't create folders, create contacts, with IMAP email

(I use Apple Mail for personal) - After several days of not being able to use Outlook for work because I had chosen not to use the "New" Outlook look - I'm still fighting with it.

I have IMAP work email addresses connected to a company server -- I cannot create new folders, new contacts - nothing.

The only one in which I can is for a Gmail account I created in panic for work.

Other than that, any workflow or organisation is impossible.

Any ideas?

    According to your description, I have done research on New Outlook for Mac with a Gmail account. My test result is that I can't create new folder, which is the same as yours. But I can create new contact for the Gmail account in New Outlook for Mac. How did you create new contact?

    In addition, based on my test, both the new folders and new contacts can be created successfully for Gmail account(As an IMAP account) when turning off the "New Outlook" switch to continue to use the old version of Outlook for Mac. As a workaround, it's suggested that you could try to turn off the "New Outlook" and continue to use the old version of Outlook for Mac.
