FSLogix – Customised Start Menu

Hi here’s my scenario/problem.

I currently have two Citrix desktops in production published from server 2019. Windows 10 style, one with Office 2016 installed and the other with Office 365 Click to Run.

I have created separate custom start menus to for each desktop (Office apps pinned to Start Menu as tiles along with other core apps).
If I log on as a first-time user the start layout gets applied. If I then log on to the other desktop the custom start layout for that desktop does not get applied and I get missing tiles. Has anyone come across this issue before and have a fix?

I want to be able to migrate users from the Office 2016 desktop to the Office 365 desktop, but as is they will not have a nice start menu layout with missing tiles. As part of testing if I delete the FSLogix profile containers they will get the start layout rendered correctly. But with thousands of users this is not possible as a solution.

Any help greatly appreciated!

How are you applying the Start layout? Custom XML applied via GPO?
