MySQL in APP version update

Currently, the only version which is available for MySQL in APP is 5.7.9 - MySQL Community Server (GPL).
How can I update the version to 8.0.26?

Thanks for using Microsoft Q&A !!
I believe you are talking about Azure App Service MySQL in-app feature which creates a web application along with MySQL instance. I do not think you can update the version of the same but I will check internally and get back to you.
Any specific reason you want to update the version ?

MySQL 8 supports features that are not available in MySQL 5.
It would be nice if Microsoft add the possibility to choose which version to use somewhere here:

Also, as I understand this works only with Windows machines. It would be nice to have the same feature on Linux.
