integrating another company

Hello.

The company I work for has an existing 365 tenancy and all PCs are Azure AD joined.

We have acquired another company that has an on premise DC (and will need to keep it). This plan is to move them to hybrid Azure AD joined.

My question is will I need to create a new subscription for them? I'm guessing so as each subscription can only trust a single directory.

Can you have some PCs azure ad joined, and others hybrid azure ad joined?

The plan is to ultimately integrate the companies.

    It is entirely possible to have multiple AD domains, from separate forests, sync to a single AAD instance, so long as you can uniquely identity all users. You can read about doing this here.

    If you choose to sync all users to a single AAD Tenant then you can use a single O365 subscription. If you sync them to separate Tenants then you will need separate O365 subscriptions.

    Agree with Sam-Cogan, Azure AD connect is able to synchronize many forest to a single AD Azure tenant as mentioned below:

    So you don't need to create subscription.
