How can I get my WIN 10 laptop to recognize the D: drive's BitLocker password?

I upgraded my Dell Inspiron to a 500GB SSD C: drive. I moved the 250GB SDD that was the C: drive to a D: Drive. It was Bitlocker protected. My system forgets the Bitlocker key after a reboot, and I have to enter the key manually. How can I get my system to remember the D: drive Bitlocker key?

After unlocking it, configure auto-unlock.
On an elevated command prompt, launch
manage-bde -autounlock -enable d:

After figuring out how to get my CMD to recognise me as an ADMIN, I tried the command: manage-bde -autounlock -enable d:

I received an error:

ERROR: An error occurred (code 0x80070017):
Data error (cyclic redundancy check).

Any ideas on how to handle that?

Something is broken at a low level, possibly you can overcome it like this:
backup your data (unless you already have the old c: data anyway)
format d:
re-create d: and encrypt it (being empty, use the option to encrypt used space only9
activate auto-unlock and see if it works
if it does, restore the data from backup
