The page you are requesting cannot be served because of the extension configuration. If the page is a script, add a handler. If the file should be downloaded, add a MIME map.

Hello to everyone.

I'm running Windows 11 where I have enabled IIS. So,let's say that the IP address of the VM is : 192.168.1.7,I can reach this IP web address outside of my LAN. I have changed the default folder where are stored the files of the web server from this :

c:\inetpub\wwwroot

to this folder :

E:\inetpub\wwwroot

E: is the disk where I have stored all the files I need. In other terms, I want to share these files outside of my LAN. Later I will download them from : http://192.168.1.7/ and I will save them to a disk attached to another PC. I can't copy the files I need to c:\inetpub\wwwroot , because they are bigger than the size of the win 11 installation.

Unfortunately because an error I cant download the files that I have placed inside the new web folder. If I try to do that,I get the following error message :

HTTP Error 404.3 - Not Found

The page you are requesting cannot be served because of the extension configuration. If the page is a script, add a handler. If the file should be downloaded, add a MIME map.

Do you know how to fix this error ? thanks in advance.

    Hi @mario mario ,

I'm not sure which kind of file you request and if this kind of type exists in MIME Types module. The most important is you need to install some features on IIS.

Open Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> Turn Windows features on or off.

Internet Information Services -> World Wide Web Services -> Application Development Features

Make sure the parts highlighted in yellow are installed.
