Hi, I would like to install SP3 for SQL Server 2016 hosting SCOM 2019 DBs. SQL Server is on separate machine from SCOM itself. What is procedure to do this properly? Should same procedure be followed if I want to install latest CU for SQL Server 2016 SP3 or any other update for SQL Server 2016 SP3 at some point?

Thanks in advance!

    Hello Bojan.
Just see this like any other SQL SP update or CU update. SCOM is just an app using one of the databases on your server.
If this is a sql clustyer you can use the clustered updates procedure and if this is just a single SQL server, it simply means SCOM will be down while you run this update. Pick a good moment for yourself.
    SO go ahead :-)
