Hi,

I have two Hyperv Server Core evaulation servers and I want to license them to Server Core using Server 2019 OEM licenses. However the only option I have is to license it to ServerDatacentreCore.

Is this just a bug or known issue? Basically is there anyway around this? I don't want to use Hyper Server and the only ISO's I have access to are the evaulation ISO's at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/evaluate-windows-server-2019

I have seen this link https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/f8703055-93b7-4552-b577-ce633f2b52e7/howto-convert-an-evaluation-core-version-to-standard-core with other people with the same issue but no answer.

I have tested this by spinning up a new version of Core and running the following commands:
dism /online /get-currentedition
dism /online /get-targeteditions

For OEM licenses you may need to use the OEM provided installation media. Might also try using a kms key as intermediary step.
    Dism /online /Set-Edition:ServerStandardCor /ProductKey:N69G4-B89J2-4G8F4-WWYCC-J464C /AcceptEula

then if successful use your own product key below after reboot
    slmgr /ipk xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx
    slmgr /ato

    Hi,

Sorry for delay in answering - I have been off on leave. I tried using the mac key as you said above but got an error 1168 this time. The error I get in the DISM.log is:

Well I think I only have two options. Either raise a support call with MS which they probably can't fix it as it looks to be a bug or get the OEM software and reinstall the two server cores.

Frustrating as all the other servers with a desktop licensed fine with the above DISM command and were installed from the same ISO.

Must be a bug with the core version on the Eval 2019 ISO.
