I am planning to buy a new laptop (Lenovo IdeaPad 3, ryzen 5 5500u,(8gb/512gb) 15.6inch FHD) from amazon.
Here is the link:https://www.amazon.in/dp/B09MM58Y7Q/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glc_i_Z6GK5M3P8S677DF5VFPS?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I am curious to know that is it safe to do an online set-up of window 10 or 11 or I should go with an offline set-up.
And I also want know how to disable automatic updates if I go with online set-up in windows 10 or 11.

When you purchase a new device and turn it on , you don't have access to the internet (so you couldn't go online) and while you are setup the Windows and configure it , then it will ask you to connect to internet and there it is safe if you connect to internet. However, you may perform offline setup too.
However, when setup has been completed you have to connect to internet so your Windows would be able to activate and then to download and install all updates.
We advise you to stay connect to internet and download and install all updates first and then try install other programs.

I think the best answer here is to do what you are more comfortable with.

I also would like to know what exactly you mean by doing it online? Do you mean connecting to a local network and having access to things like the internet, or are you talking about things like account creation? It's understandable if you don't want to use online accounts (like your hotmail/live/ms/school account) and instead create only local computer accounts. This is totally normal and I would recommend it as it keeps things manageable at various levels.

There are pros and cons to each setup, but aside from account setup, putting your computer online as part of the out-of-box experience is good as it will get you computer OS updates, driver updates, and install built in applications. (You can look up how to remove all of them via PowerShell after they install, totally worth it)

I would recommend doing the online setup for the updates, then create a local user account...but that's me. Do what you feel most comfortable with.

    Hi there,

It is best to set up your PC online with a Microsft account so it would be easier for you to access the laptop in case you forget your password. Once your updates have been downloaded, it is not necessary to have an internet connection. But if you want the best out of windows 10, then it is good to have an internet connection.

To disable Windows 10 Automatic Updates:
-Go to Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Services.
-Scroll down to Windows Update in the resulting list.
-Double click the Windows Update Entry.
-In the resulting dialog, if the service is started, click 'Stop'
    -Set Startup Type to Disabled.
