RAM and processer upgrade on Failover cluster Nodes

Question

Hi,

We are running with a two-node failover cluster.

Each node has 128GB of RAM and One physical processer.

We need to add one more processer to each node and upgrade each node's RAM to 256GB.

1. What are the steps We should have to follow?
2. Is it needed to run cluster validation (node) again?

Details: OS> Windows server 2019 (Datacenter) / Servers> Dell R440

Hi there,

If it is only a hardware upgrade then it should not have an issue. Memory upgrade will simply be recognized. A CPU upgrade may require a BIOS upgrade, but that has nothing to do with the cluster. But if it is a server version upgrade, consult the Windows Server upgrade content. And yes I suppose you need to run cluster validation again.
