Greater Equals or Less Than Equals operators get replaced by a sign or arrows

In the 17.0.5 update (to my knowledge), "Greater Equals" (<=) or "Less Than Equals" (>=) operators get replaced by a sign. This is a VERY annoying feature to me, and unfortunately, I have no clue on how to disable it, and I did not find anyone else being annoyed by this. Please instruct me on where to find the setting to disable this.

Thanks in advance!

See if this blog post explains what you're seeing. If it does, and you don't like it, change your font.
