Sharepoint 2013 forcing users to click "Sign In" even though automatic login on Intranet sites is enabled

Questions is as stated in title, Sharepoint 2013 is requiring users to click on the "Sign In" button instead of automatically logging them in, even though Intranet settings are set to Automatically log in with user credentials.

Example of the Sign in Button when users open the browser:

Example after clicking the button:

It doesn't prompt for any sign in, just signs the user in with the current credentials when you click it, no questions asked.

I'm asking about this because we've lost the functionality of navigating to the site and being logged in automatically without having to click the button.

This appears to be some issue not necessarily with the Intranet settings, but with Sharepoint or how it's interacting with the credentials? We've made no changes to GPOs to cause this change.

    @Andrew Owen

    I cannot reproduce the issue in my end.

    I suggest you clear browser cache then have a test.

    And you could use Fiddler to find more clues.

    @Andrew Owen ,

    this is NOT normal in my opinion.

    Which authentication method is configured for this particular Web Application ? I imagine NTLM but just to be sure :)

    If only NTLM is selected, have you performed any enhancement / restriction in this sense at domain level concerning NTLM ?

    The SharePoint farm is provisioned in the same domain as the end user or is it using a dedicated resource forest ?

    It will be nice to know if this behavior is there since the beginning or if it popped up at some point
