Hello,

I come from Germany and also use a German Outlook. I have the problem that the search strings in Oulook don't work as long as they are entered in German. My case was also treated with you for months last year. Case#:25077783

Apparently the problem has been going on for years and you are not treating it any further! Why hasn't there been a fix since 2016?

This query works

This query works (english Prefix)

The search via the filter popup does not work with any command!

This problem has existed since 2016, as you can see from these posts. When is something going to happen here?

    Hi @cimoto ,
    Welcome to our forum!

In order to verify, what is the default language of your Windows OS?

According to my search, I found which is known issue: Outlook Search not inserting the expected localized text when using the ribbon

To workaround, the installed language of Office and the installed language of Windows must match, because the search syntax (From, To, Has Attachments) seems to follow the Windows OS language. Search will not work properly in a mixed language scenario or when using language packs.

Besides, I'd recommend you submit a feedback regarding this issue to the following website which is the most direct channel that our product team utilizes to collect suggestions and ideas from our customers: https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/forum/89a8afa3-2e1c-ec11-b6e7-0022481f8472

    Hi @cimoto ,

    Thanks for your reply.

When using Advanced Query Search (AQS) to refine your search results. In the search box, type an AQS keyword, from the table below, followed by a colon and what you want to search for.
The keyword is in English, and the search content is your default language.

Besides, it is recommended you repair office from control panel in order to exclude the impact of language pack damage.

As a workaround, you can use Advanced Search by clicking the filter button on the right side of the search box. Alternatively, the Outlook ribbon will change to show the Search tab and you use any of the options in the Refine group to refine your search results.

    This doesn't work either

the problem may well be released in the future

The problem has existed since 2016. Something must finally happen here! It can't be that I'm the only one with this error and that no one at Microsoft has noticed or addressed the problem. The search must work! This is an essential part of Outlook.

Is there anything new to report or is this topic back in Nirvana for years and no one cares?
