Windows 2008 DC pinging each other with IPV6

Yesterday I got a call that a user was unable to access a share. After looking into it I notice the user is pining the share as IPV6. I disabled IPV6 on the network card and they were able to access the share. Start to hear more issues so I go look at my 2008 DCs. Here each DC is pinging each other as ipv6, I do a dcdiag it fails unable to find the domain controller for this domain.

What would cause my network to start using ipv6 instead of ipv4? To my knowledge, nothing has changed.

Any idea of how to track down this issue would be greatly appreciated. I'm stumped about what has happened.

    Might check for a rogue IPv6 DHCP server on the network (router?)

    As of right now it looks like a mac was the cause. We have not found out why it was doing it but once removed from the network things are returning to normal.
