Sign-in failed - password changed (microsoft outlook)

My Microsoft Outlook was working fine this morning but suddenly I now get a security saying I need to sign and it won't do it. The same has happened on the app on my phone as it says my password has been changed so sign-in has failed, and I haven't done anything to it and wasn't even using it for a couple of hours.

Help, I urgently need my emails - is there a known problem?

Thanks

Thanks for visiting our forum, here we mainly focus on general issues about Outlook desktop client.

The same has happened on the app on my phone as it says my password has been changed so sign-in has failed

As you mentioned, this issue happened not only in Outlook desktop client but also on your phone, so I'm afraid that the key of your issue might be more related to your email account itself instead of your Outlook desktop client.

What the account are you using(outlook, Gmail or others)? In order to conduct further researches on your issue, please try to log in to your web mail and see if your email account could work fine.

    • If it could work normally, please try to reset your password, then re-add your account in your Outlook Client by creating a new profile(Control Panel>Mail>Show profiles>Add) and check if the issue could be solved.
    • If you also have the issue on your Web Mail, please try to contact with your mailbox administrator.

Hope above information is helpful to you.
