Error to join the domain : the specified network name is no longer available

Hello,

For testing, i installed a new server with W2019.
I added roles AD DS and DNS and upgrate it on Domain Controler.
IP is: 192.68.0.1 / Mask : 255.255.255.0 / gateway: 192.168.0.254 / DNS : 192.168.0.1

I have a pc with IP : 192.68.0.4 / Mask : 255.255.255.0 / gateway : 192.168.0.254 / DNS : 192.168.0.1

When i try to add it on the domain, i have this message : your computer could not be joined to the domain because the following error occurred: the specified network name is no longer available

I checked logs but i don't see any mistakes.

I tested the same procedure with a W2012R2, i have no problems.

What can be the cause of this problem?

    I'd check that the domain controller and problem member both have the static ip address of DC listed for DNS and no others such as router or public DNS. If problems persist then please run;

    • Dcdiag /v /c /d /e /s:%computername% >c:\dcdiag.log
    • repadmin /showrepl >C:\repl.txt
    • ipconfig /all > C:\dc1.txt
    • ipconfig /all > C:\dc2.txt
    • (etc. as other DC's exist)
    • ipconfig /all > C:\problemworkstation.txt

    then put unzipped text files up on OneDrive and share a link.

    But after 10 days of research, I finally found.
    It was because smb 1.0/cifs file sharing support is not install on the server.

    Glad to hear its sorted, it always helps to describe the environment in detail. As to SMB1 Server 2019 does not use it by default. While its possible to add it; it presents a security risk to do so. More info here.

    SMB v2 is activated but it doesn't seem enough.
