Export Apps from Endpoint Manager

Hi everyone!

I am currently working to export some apps out of Endpoint Device Manager admin center. Unfortunately, I am not finding any way to export the .intunewin files out of the portal. I found an article where someone wrote a script to freeze IMEMCACHE essentially so that when you push the app to the computer it grabs the .intunewin file.

Does anyone have suggestions for a way to get the packages out of Apps section of Endpoint Device Manager? I don't like the idea of having to push the install of every app I need and grab it from IMEMCACHE to get the app.

Thanks!

@Trent Becker Thanks for posting in our Q&A forum. From your description I know that we want to export the .intunewin file directly from Intune portal. If there is anything misunderstanding, please feel free to let us know.

As far as I know, the inner .intunewin is the encrypted source folder and the encryption info is stored in the detection.xml. Currently there is no direct way to extract it.

Otherwise, I noticed a blog mentioning that it can be done using the IntuneWinAppUtilDecoder tool, more details please refer to:

Note: none-official link, just for reference. Hope it can help!

Just going to mark this for my own answer in case anyone finds it.

At this time Microsoft doesn't support exporting uploaded .intunewin files or even decoding them. There are some programs others have written to decode .intunewin files and another tool that freezes a machines IMEMCACHE and then you push the deployment to the machine and can grab it from it.

It's crazy that Microsoft offers no way to get the files you have uploaded back, but tis the way of Microsoft.
